BT has built an innovative wireless network based on Rajant'sKinetic Mesh technology forDP World Antwerp, one of Europe’s busiest ports which handles 3000 trucks every day and almost 950 ships annually.
The network is designed to provide secure and resilient connectivity for devices at the terminal, helping DP World Antwerp to analyse and optimise port operations.
BT’s solution based on RajantCorporation’s mobile, scalable and highly reliable Kinetic Mesh®. This enables always-on communications so critical applications can be accessed in real-time in the most cost-effective way. BT worked with DP World Antwerp on proof-of-concept trials to show that the technology could meet the stringent demands of terminal operations.Otherfeatures of the wireless solution include its adaptability, connectivity for moving vehicles. In addition, it also complies with radio frequency and industrial regulations governing the use of wireless networks on the site.
This wireless backbone solution creates an infrastructure for future IoT deployments, opening up the possibilities of automation and artificial intelligence as part of DP World’s digital transformation.
